For this project, I worked for Het Positieve Energie Café by Cocosmos to design an accessible way to engage people in making their homes more sustainable—while also strengthening social connection.

Over the course of 6 weeks, my 8 teammates and I went through multiple design iterations, combining field research, creative ideation, and hands-on prototyping. Our final concept, De Energie Markt, brings together free drinks, meaningful conversations, and a custom DIY kit to make the energy transition feel more personal and practical.

We created three distinct DIY kits, with LED lamps, radiator foil, and weather strips. Each kit comes in a reusable box, with a clear, IKEA-style manual and a short explanatory video, making the energy transition feel simple and doable for everyone. Not able to install it yourself? To make sure our final prototype worked, I tested it with a local community. Talking to residents, offering drinks and sweets, and handing out DIY kits gave us valuable feedback—and a first glimpse of how the concept could work in the real world. You’ll find photos below!
